The Box Elder Bees came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 45-33 victory over Clarkstown South. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but Box Elder was the better team in the second half.
Box Elder's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaydence Barber led the charge by scoring eight points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylee Chappell, who scored nine points.
Box Elder's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Clarkstown South, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Box Elder will be home for the holidays to greet Bear River at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Bear River is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Clarkstown South will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Rockland at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
