Medina/Webber/Barker will challenge Lackawanna on the road at 1:00 PM on Saturday. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps rankings project a close match.
The match between Medina/Webber/Barker and Western New York Maritime Charter/Health Sciences last Saturday was not a total blowout, but with Medina/Webber/Barker falling 22-42, it was darn close. Medina/Webber/Barker's defeat came about despite a quality game from sophomore Brian Fry, who caught passes for 173 yards and 2 touchdowns. Fry has now scored at least one touchdown in the past 3 games.
Meanwhile, we expected Lackawanna to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Cheektowaga, and they did. Lackawanna found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 0-33 punch to the gut against Cheektowaga.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
