Pleasant Grove and Lehi are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pioneers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lehi will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Pleasant Grove extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over Skyridge.

Pleasant Grove let Maya Parry and Maile Larsen run wild. Parry went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs, while Larsen went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Larsen has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. Grace Norman was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pleasant Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lehi put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let Lone Peak get on the board and left with an 11-0 win.
Mya Maughan and Sophie Bliss did most of the damage at the plate: Maughan went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Bliss got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadlie Hansen, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Pleasant Grove pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Lehi, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pleasant Grove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .457. However, it's not like Lehi struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pleasant Grove came out on top in a nail-biter against Lehi when the teams last played on April 10th, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pioneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
