The Flinthills Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Thursday, Flinthills made easy work of Sedan and carried off a 15-4 victory. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Emily Scribner, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karynn Gleason, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Flinthills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sedan only posted an OBP of .348.
Meanwhile, Cedar Vale/Dexter got the win against West Elk on Thursday by a conclusive 19-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.
Zoe Davidson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Davidson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and six RBI.
In other batting news, Madelyn Lampson and Bailey Hedgecock did most of the damage at the plate: Lampson went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Hedgecock scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Edee Boatman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Cedar Vale/Dexter pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.the team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team won's by an average of 8.9 runs thus far As for Flinthills, their record now sits at an identical 2-0.
Flinthills suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Cedar Vale/Dexter when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Flinthills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
