The Kirbyville Wildcats's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They walked away with a 54-41 victory over Kelly Catholic. The victory was just what Kirbyville needed coming off of a 42-20 defeat in their prior game.
Despite the loss, Kelly Catholic still got an impressive performance from Zanaya Flanagan, who scored 19 points along with five steals. The match was Flanagan's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chelsea Fontenette, who scored seven points.
Kirbyville's win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Kelly Catholic, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-12.
Kirbyville is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Splendora at 10:00 a.m. on December 27th. As for Kelly Catholic, they will play host again and welcome Orangefield, where tip off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Orangefield will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
