Northwest Christian is a perfect 4-0 against Scottsdale Christian Academy since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Crusaders will welcome the Eagles at 3:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Northwest Christian was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Payson on Friday. The Crusaders were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Longhorns. The Crusaders have beaten the Longhorns the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Longhorns has come to flipping the script.

Kinsey Unger was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Angus, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Northwest Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Scottsdale Christian Academy entered their tilt with Madison Highland Prep on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Heat 17-2.
Madeleine (Maddie) Ketchum was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ketchum was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Caitlyn Troxell was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Campbell Reader, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Scottsdale Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Northwest Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Northwest Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .536. However, it's not like Scottsdale Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .549. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Northwest Christian took their win against Scottsdale Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1 score. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
