The Washingtonville Wizards will square off against the Goshen Central Gladiators at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Washingtonville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Washingtonville lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Warwick, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. The Wizards were the clear victors by a 17-9 margin over the Wildcats on Friday. Considering the Wizards have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Bryce Tesseyman
Bryce Tesseyman was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Washingtonville is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise. Tesseyman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Andrew Dempsey was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Omar Puello, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Washingtonville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Goshen Central was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They fell just short of Valley Central by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Gladiators have suffered since May 20, 2024.
Goshen Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was F Mitterbauer, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Washingtonville's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Goshen Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4-1.
Washingtonville took their win against Goshen Central in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 12-4 score. Do the Wizards have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gladiators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
