It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Colcord Hornets had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Pocola at home to the tune of 50-20. The win was familiar territory for Colcord who now have ten in a row.
Pocola's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aj Lyons-Jerrell, who gained 84 total yards and two touchdowns. Lyons-Jerrell is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played. Garrett Scott was another key contributor, picking up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Colcord pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.6 points per game. As for Pocola, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Colcord will square off against Woodland at TBD on Friday. Woodland is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Pocola does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
