Two dominant backs in Cristian Simmons and Yoshua McBryde are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The South View Tigers will welcome the St. Pauls Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, South View put up the most points they have all season on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Douglas Byrd 54-8. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

South View relied on the efforts of Jamal Brown, who punched in two rushing scores, and Shamar Moses, who rushed for 55 yards and one TD. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in passing yards (140).
They were just one part of a punishing run game: South View was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 150 rushing yards in six consecutive games.
South View's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Armani Jones was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. He also made six total tackles, which is notable because South View is undefeated when he posts at least three total tackles, but 1-3 otherwise. The Tigers received some extra help from Brendan Jones, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for St. Pauls, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They secured a 31-27 W over Westover on Friday.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in McBryde and Latrell Allen. McBryde had a great game and gained 128 total yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Allen was balling out in the loss, rushing for 153 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also picking up 50 receiving yards.
St. Pauls didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Aubrey Cobbs and Malikah Locklear. Dezhian Roberts was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks and making seven total tackles (2.5 for loss).
South View's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for St. Pauls, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. South View has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 234.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like St. Pauls struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 183.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
