It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Rockland had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 14-7 win over Millbury. The victory was some much needed relief for Rockland as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Meanwhile, Clinton put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past South Shore Vo-Tech 38-8 at home. With Clinton ahead 32-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clinton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Connor Cox, who rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Another player making a difference was Taetum Cassella, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Another reason for the win was Clinton's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Cox was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Rockland's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Clinton, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
