Basketball Recap: Newman Skates Past L.W. Higgins with Ease

Newman had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the L.W. Higgins Hurricanes 60-26. The Greenies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Randy Livingston Jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10 for 12 on his way to 21 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards. That's the most assists he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Payton Foster, who posted eight points along with four blocks and three steals.

When it comes to explaining why L.W. Higgins lost, don't look at Roman Mcclinton. Despite the final result, he had 19 points.

Newman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for L.W. Higgins, their loss dropped their record down to 5-21.

Newman will face off against McDonogh 35 at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for L.W. Higgins, they will square off against Bonnabel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bonnabel will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something L.W. Higgins surely won't give up without a fight.
