The Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Rams couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a serious blow against Columbia County Christian on Monday, falling 86-50. Columbia Montour Vo-Tech lost against Columbia County Christian in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 73-26 score last time.
Columbia County Christian found their leader in underclassman Pierce Cughan, who shot 5-for-9 from long range and dropped a triple-double on 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 steals. Cughan is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Clay Farley, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds.
Columbia Montour Vo-Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Columbia County Christian, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia Montour Vo-Tech will take on Midd-West at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Columbia County Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Meadowbrook Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th.
