Baseball Recap: Saint Mary's Hall Takes a Loss

Saint Mary's Hall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Augustine Knights. The Barons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 8-6.

Saint Mary's Hall saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Potter, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Potter has become a key player for the Barons: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Ian Choisne also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Saint Mary's Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for St. Augustine, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.

Coincidentally, Saint Mary's Hall and St. Augustine will both be playing San Antonio Christian the next time they take the field. The Knights will host the Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Barons will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
