This season hasn't been kind to the Highland Rams, who are still winless after their 13th matchup. They fell 44-35 to Olympus on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Highland of the 66-39 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 3rd.
Despite the loss, Highland still got an impressive performance from Danae Asiata, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Gurgel, who scored five points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Leading Olympus to victory were Keily Trabanino and Joss Baker. Trabanino scored 13 points along with four steals, while Baker dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Trabanino is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.
Highland's defeat was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Olympus, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-8.
Highland will head out on the road to challenge Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brighton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Highland in Utah (Brighton is ranked 27th, while Highland is ranked 100th). As for Olympus, they will be playing at home against West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in West's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
