Pikesville proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 54) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Flowers 50-47.
Pikesville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Darielle Weems led the charge by scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Mariah Jones-Bey was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists and two steals.
New Town has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Pikesville, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
