Volleyball Recap: First Baptist Christian Falls Short Against Ranked Acadiana Home School Athletics

First Baptist Christian faced Acadiana Home School Athletics in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Commandos. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Commandos apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

First Baptist Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-20.

Acadiana Home School Athletics was led to victory by Julia West and Emily Mader. West had 17 kills, 11 aces, and ten digs, while Mader had 15 digs, nine kills, and six aces. West has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last seven times she's played. Caitlin Hoffpauir was another key player, getting 15 assists and three digs.

First Baptist Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Acadiana Home School Athletics, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. First Baptist Christian will square off against rival Christian Home Educators Fellowship at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Acadiana Home School Athletics is set to face off against their familiar foe Christian Academy of Louisiana at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
