The East Stroudsburg North Timberwolves lost against the Pocono Mountain West Panthers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. East Stroudsburg North took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pocono Mountain West. While losing is never fun, East Stroudsburg North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Pocono Mountain West is ranked 23rd).
East Stroudsburg North lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nate Wilder, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Wilder is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryceson Dobie, who scored 19 points along with three steals.
East Stroudsburg North's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7. As for Pocono Mountain West, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Stroudsburg North won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Eastside at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. The timing is sure in Eastside's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while East Stroudsburg North has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Pocono Mountain West, they will square off against Pleasant Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pleasant Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Pocono Mountain West likes a good challenge.
