After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Patrick Henry Academy, Cross was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hardeeville Hurricanes a 22-0 shutout. With that victory, the Stingrays brought their scoring average up to 7.8 runs per game.
Rowland Settle and Caleb Davis were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Settle pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Davis tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Settle has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Settle went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Davis got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Settle has brought in this season.
