The Park Rapids Panthers waltzed into their game Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 79-71 victory over Barnesville. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Park Rapids' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Carroll, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Carroll hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Noah Larson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Park Rapids pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 84.7 points per game. As for Barnesville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Park Rapids will take on Menahga at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Barnesville, they will be playing at home against Pelican Rapids at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Pelican Rapids' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
