Softball Recap: Boswell Has No Trouble Against Crowley

Boswell got themselves on the board against Crowley on Tuesday, but Crowley never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Eagles. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Harley Malone looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Analasia Eqsuivel, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Manjarrez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Boswell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .826. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Boswell has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Crowley, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Boswell will challenge rival Mansfield Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 3.2, the Broncos 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Crowley is set to take on their familiar foe Mansfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
