The Eula Pirates put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 54-34 margin over Bovina. Given Eula's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Bovina is ranked 1277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Miguel Lopez and Andrew Garcia certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Lopez scored 9 points, while Garcia scored 7 points.
Eula's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Bovina, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Eula won't have much time to rest: their next match is against All Saints Episcopal School at 4:30 p.m. on December 8th. All Saints Episcopal School is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Bovina, they will square off against Hart at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
