Basketball Recap: Pahrump Valley Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Pahrump Valley had lost seven straight headed into Thursday's contest, but Keir Sheppard didn't let it get to eight. The Pahrump Valley Trojans managed a 53-49 victory over the Sports Leadership & Management Bulls on Thursday thanks in part to Sheppard, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 21 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Despite the loss, Sports Leadership & Management still got an impressive performance from Jael Cousett, who went 8 of 10 en route to 21 points. Khari Crawford also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Pahrump Valley's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-16. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Pahrump Valley has already played their next game (against Bonanza), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sports Leadership & Management is taking a road trip to square off against The Meadows School at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Meadows School will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Sports Leadership & Management surely won't give up without a fight.
