North Stokes has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Mount Airy Granite Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Airy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on North Stokes, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, North Stokes strolled past the Trojans with points to spare, taking the game 42-25. Given North Stokes' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Trojans are ranked 498th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Mount Airy came up short against the Rams on Friday and fell 44-34. Mount Airy has struggled against the Rams recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
North Stokes has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. As for Mount Airy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
North Stokes came out on top in a nail-biter against the Granite Bears in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 38-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Stokes since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
