Rondout Valley came into Saturday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past the Liberty Redhawks with an 18-14 victory on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Ganders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Rondout Valley's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Liberty, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Rondout Valley will venture away from home to challenge Saugerties at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Sawyers' defense has only allowed 5.2 points per game this season, so the Ganders' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Liberty, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against New Paltz at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Redhawks will be up against the Huguenots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
