Southern Coffey County's offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 64 first-half points. Chetopa countered with 6 points, leaving the score at 64-6 going into the half. The Southern Coffey County defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game.
No one put up better numbers for Southern Coffey County than senior Dawson Leimkuhler, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 130 yards on the ground and caught passes for 50 yards. The win bumped their record up to 3-2. Chetopa are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.
Southern Coffey County will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Altoona-Midway. Southern Coffey County will be strutting in after a victory while Altoona-Midway will be stumbling in from a defeat. As for Chetopa, they will face off against Crest. Those two teams have had a rocky road up to this point with four consecutive losses for Chetopa and five for Crest.
