Union has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the West Columbus Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, Union suffered a rough 60-34 loss at the hands of Spring Creek. Union was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-18.
Meanwhile, West Columbus pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Heide Trask on the road by a decisive 73-55 margin. West Columbus has struggled against Heide Trask recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Union bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for West Columbus, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Union took a serious blow against West Columbus in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 85-40. Can Union avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
