The Heritage Academy Heroes''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 32-14 to El Dorado. Heritage Academy lost against El Dorado in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 34-16 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Heritage Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Elliot Cahall. Despite the final result, he rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Cahall was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards.
Heritage Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.0 points per game. As for El Dorado, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
Heritage Academy will be playing at home against Maricopa Institute of Technology at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Maricopa Institute of Technology comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. El Dorado will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Imagine Prep at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Imagine Prep is ranked ninth, while El Dorado is ranked 20th).
