Basketball Recap: Expression Prep Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Rasheed Morrison and Mitchell Cox

Expression Prep Academy suffered their closest loss since December 21, 2023 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Capital Cougars by a score of 69-66.

Expression Prep Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mitchell Cox, who went 10 for 19 on his way to 27 points in addition to seven steals and five boards, and Rasheed Morrison, who went 10 of 16 on his way to 26 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. The game was Cox's third in a row with at least ten points.

Even though they lost, Expression Prep Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Expression Prep Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Capital, their victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.

Expression Prep Academy will take on South Webster in a holiday battle at at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Capital, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cabell Midland at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
