The Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the North Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hunter-Kinard-Tyler is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North in South Carolina (Hunter-Kinard-Tyler is ranked 114th, while North is ranked 246th).
Hunter-Kinard-Tyler suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Denmark-Olar 44-17. It was the first time this season that Hunter-Kinard-Tyler let down their fans at home.
Even though North has not done well against Wagener-Salley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. North claimed a resounding 40-9 win over Wagener-Salley at home. The victory was some much needed relief for North as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Hunter-Kinard-Tyler's loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4. As for North, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12.
Everything came up roses for Hunter-Kinard-Tyler against North when the teams last played on January 2nd as the team secured a 50-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hunter-Kinard-Tyler since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
