The Southern Christian Patriots will take on the Cornerstone Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Southern Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Wiregrass, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Patriots blew past the Kings 7-1 on Saturday.

Trey Chamberlin made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Southern Christian's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 3-1 (and 5-8 when he doesn't). Chamberlin was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
Chamberlin wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brooks Pender, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Pineview Christian as they made off with a 22-9 victory. Considering the Eagles have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Southern Christian, Cornerstone Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Colby Harrison. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Harrison has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring five runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-6. He also put up two triples, which were his first of the season.
In other batting news, Cornerstone Christian let Gage Donaldson and Owen Meadows run wild. Donaldson scored five runs and stole two bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances, while Meadows scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. With that strong performance, Donaldson is now averaging an impressive 2.3 runs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Cornerstone Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Cornerstone Christian's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.1 runs over those games. As for Southern Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Southern Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cornerstone Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
