Basketball Recap: Harlan Skates Past Marshall with Ease

Harlan won the last time they faced Marshall and things went their way on Saturday too. The Harlan Hawks claimed a resounding 92-57 win over the Marshall Rams. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-29.

Among those leading the charge was Elijah Moore, who posted 22 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amoni Francis, who scored ten points.

Jai Lopez and Liam Curry certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Lopez went 5 of 12 en route to 15 points and eight boards, while Curry had 13 points. Adam Camacho was another key player, putting up nine points.

Harlan has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.5 points per game. As for Marshall, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-19 record this season.

Harlan will square off against Holmes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Harlan is facing Holmes at the right time seeing as Holmes is stuck on an 18-game losing streak. As for Marshall, they will challenge Brennan at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Brennan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 25 matchups -- so hopefully Marshall likes a good challenge.
