The Lee Academy Cougars and the Calhoun Academy Cougars squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Lee Academy Cougars had to settle for second. Lee Academy fell just short of Calhoun Academy by a score of 52-50. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Coley Denton was his usual excellent self, rushing for 199 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry. Denton is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Layton Logan was in the mix too, providing Calhoun Academy with three touchdowns.
Lee Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Calhoun Academy, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Lee Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Calhoun Academy will take on Sharkey Issaquena Academy at TBD on Thursday. Sharkey Issaquena Academy is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
