Baseball Recap: Avery County Drops Highest Score of Season Against Owen

Avery County scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Owen Warhorses, falling 20-9. The defeat leaves the Vikings still looking for their first win of the season.

Landon Liner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron King, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Even though they lost, Avery County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Avery County's record now sits at 0-7. As for Owen, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avery County will take on Elkin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
