The Uintah Utes suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 77-51 walloping at the hands of Timpanogos. Uintah was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-18.
Uintah's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dauson Gardiner, who scored 16 points along with three blocks and two steals, and Brayden Murray who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
Timpanogos' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Graf, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Graf continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Steven LaPray, who scored 15 points along with five steals.
Uintah has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Timpanogos, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Uintah will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Payson at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Payson is ranked 77th, while Uintah is ranked 82nd). As for Timpanogos, they will head out on the road to square off against Layton Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Layton Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,255 points over their last 18 matchups.
