The Killian Hill Christian Cougars can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They walked away with a 58-48 win over HALO. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Killian Hill Christian has managed all season.
It was another big night for Hawthorne Herring, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Emory Berry, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why HALO lost, one person who can't be blamed is Trenton Grissom. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Grissom is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 19 games he's played. Mason Dukes was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Killian Hill Christian's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-14. As for HALO, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.
Killian Hill Christian will head out on the road to square off against the Warrior at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Victory Baptist is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. HALO's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Hurricanes at 8:15 p.m. on February 2nd. Greenville H presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wolfpack in their respective states (the Hurricanes are ranked 177th in South Carolina, while the Wolfpack are ranked 520th in Georgia).
