In what's become a running theme this season, the Lakeside Lutheran Warriors gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 57-37 margin over Poynette. Given Lakeside Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Pumas are ranked 344th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lakeside Lutheran's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kooper Mlsna, who scored 16 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Wes Rahn, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Lakeside Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Poynette, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeside Lutheran will challenge the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lodi knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully the Warriors likes a good challenge. As for Poynette, they will head out on the road to face off against the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
