Miller is 0-8 against King since March of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Buccaneers are taking a road trip to square off against the Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with ten losses in a row, Miller turned things around against Aransas Pass on Friday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Panthers.
Romeo Castillo was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025. Lucas Cortez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Miller always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask King). They never let Edinburg North get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Santiago Pena looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because King is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-6-2 otherwise.
On the hitting side, King got a massive performance out of Abel Arriola, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Grant Hoogland was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Miller's record is now 2-10. As for King, their record now sits at 6-7-2.
Miller suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to King when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Buccaneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
