The Eastern Warriors will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Northwest Mohawks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Eastern was able to grind out a solid victory over Bethel-Tate, taking the game 5-2. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.
Averi Tabor made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Tabor was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Maddison Simpson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Eastern hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bethel-Tate struck out 18 times.
Meanwhile, Northwest got the win against Paint Valley on Saturday by a conclusive 21-1.
Like Eastern, Northwest also got a great game from a two-way player: Rylynn Montgomery. On the mound, Montgomery tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Kamryn Journey tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. At the plate, Montgomery got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Journey got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lauren Copp, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendra Bostwick, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.
Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Eastern, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-0.
