The Tippecanoe Valley Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Rochester Zebras at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Tippecanoe Valley has given up an average of 12.9 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Tippecanoe Valley managed to slip by Knox the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Vikings came up short against the Redskins on Friday, falling 16-6.
Weston Brown was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Adamson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Rochester made sure to put some runs up on the board against Maconaquah on Wednesday. The Zebras' pitcher stepped up to hand the Braves a 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Zebras, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Parker Casper, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Tanner Reinartz, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Rochester always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Tippecanoe Valley dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Rochester, their record is now 14-2.
Tippecanoe Valley suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Rochester in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
