Southwood and Huntington are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. The Southwood Cowboys are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Huntington Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Southwood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Huntington is ranked second).
Last Friday, Southwood beat Mansfield 39-27.
Meanwhile, even though Wossman scored an imposing 64 points on Saturday, Huntington still came out on top. Huntington took their game against Wossman 71-64. The win made it back-to-back wins for Huntington.
Carley Hamilton was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 28 points. Kyndal Graham was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Southwood has yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 7-1 record. As for Huntington, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Southwood came up short against Huntington when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 69-61. Can Southwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
