The Hannah-Pamplico Raiders suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They were the victim of a tough 68-46 loss at the hands of Marion. While losing is never fun, Hannah-Pamplico can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Marion is ranked 36th).
When it comes to explaining why Hannah-Pamplico lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tylin Jenkins. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Franklin Williams was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Hannah-Pamplico struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Hannah-Pamplico and nudges their season record down to 5-6. As for Marion, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
Hannah-Pamplico will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Richland Northeast at 2:00 p.m. on January 15th. Hopefully Richland Northeast focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Wednesday. As for Marion, they will head out on the road to challenge Lee Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
