This season hasn't been kind to The Gordon Central Warriors, who are still winless after their eighth match. They were outmatched by Rockmart at home and fell 43-7. Gordon Central has struggled against Rockmart recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Peyton Chastian threw for 94 yards on five of nine attempts. Camdon Miles was his top target, picking up 31 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
Rockmart's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Anderson, who picked up 137 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Anderson was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 62 yards. Brent Washington was another key contributor, rushing for 76 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Gordon Central's loss was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. As for Rockmart, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Gordon Central will head out on the road to face off against Model at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockmart, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fannin County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fannin County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
