The Weber Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the West Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Weber focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought game, but Weber had to settle for a 43-40 loss against Roy. Weber has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Weber's loss came about despite a quality game from Rylee Jugler, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Logyn Howell, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, West gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Viewmont out 58-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Kylee Falatea was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sia Hall, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
The losses dropped Weber to 0-2 and Roy to 1-1.
Weber came up short against West when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 47-39. Can Weber avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
