Trenton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Williston beat Bronson 9-6 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Mighty Red Devils in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.
Luna Asencion made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jayla Coleman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Dixie Adams, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Trenton's victory bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Williston, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
Williston's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Trenton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. It's a different story for Williston, though, as they've only averaged .358. Will they be able to contain Trenton's hitters?
Everything went Trenton's way against Williston in their previous meeting back in March, as Trenton made off with an 11-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
