The Southeast Seminoles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to Braden River. If Southeast hoped to take revenge for the 35-24 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Despite the loss, Southeast still got an impressive performance from Azharia Jones, who scored 11 points.
Among those leading the charge was Kamiyah Mcgrady, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Kelis Mcgrady was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Braden River, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.
Southeast will take on Sarasota at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sarasota presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southeast in Florida (Sarasota is ranked 50th, while Southeast is ranked 536th). As for Braden River, they will head out on the road to face off against Port Charlotte at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
