If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Peyton. On Friday they will take on Trinidad at 7:00 PM. Peyton don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Peyton brought a seven-game winning streak into their contest against Crowley County last Saturday; they left with a eight-game streak. Peyton captured a comfortable 30-14 victory over Crowley County. No one put up better numbers for Peyton than senior Josh Gonzales, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 94 yards on the ground and snatched 1 receiving TD.
Meanwhile, Trinidad took a serious blow against Rocky Ford, falling 0-47. Trinidad were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-35.
Peyton's win lifted them to 8-0 while Trinidad's loss dropped them down to 0-7. Peyton's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Trinidad defensive front that amassed eight sacks against Rocky Ford, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
