HOOVER, Ala. -
Hoover (Ala.) put up seven points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 29-7 victory over
Opelika (Ala.).
After taking the lead on an
Alex Elam touchdown run in the first quarter, the Buccaneers were up 15-7 at the half.
Hoover expanded its lead to 15 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown catch by
Bradrick Shaw.
The Buccaneers put up 15 points in the first quarter en route to the win. Hoover scored on two rushing touchdowns in the quarter, including one by Shaw.
Opelika's lone touchdown came on a pass from undefined to
Marquise Fulton in the second quarter.
Led by
Marlon Humphrey, HHS went into the matchup giving up only 5.9 points per game. Opelika's seven points were well below their season average of 21.7 per game.
