After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Logan, the Poca The Dots were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They took down Hoover 38-24. That's another feather in the cap for Poca, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Poca's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lindzie Runions, who scored 11 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shiloh Harding, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Hoover saw an underclassman step up: Bella Haas scored 7 points.
Poca pushed their record up to 2-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Hoover, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Poca will head out on the road to face off against Winfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hoover, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Sissonville at 7:00 p.m.
