Sacramento Valley recap November 13, 2013
Trinity added to the longest winning streak in Sacramento Valley this week by beating Mt. Shasta, 62-19. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Wolves.
Trinity took down the Bears 62-19 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cory Cook ran for 161 yards and caught 1 pass for 18 yards during the win.
Cook provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Jeremy Wardrip's team bested Mt. Shasta. Cook's favorite target this week was Daniel Hill, who caught 2 passes for 105 yards.
Josh Heath threw for 130 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was 8-9 with 0 interceptions.
Cook was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 161 yards on 18 carries as the Wolves bested Jason Young's team. Teammate Izak Steele added to the ground attack by rushing for 88 yards.
Durham's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Heath has thrown for 1,418 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, while Zach Marks has 25 catches for 671 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Trinity takes on second place Durham. Last week, Trinity defeated the Bears, while Durham beat Live Oak.
One of Sacramento Valley's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Trojans and Pierce face off next week.
Willows made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,234 from 9,598. The improvement was the result of a 14-13 victory over the Bears last week.
