Baseball Recap: Eastwood Wins Going Away Against Otsego

Eastwood barely beat Otsego the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 10-4 win on Wednesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kadyn Donnell, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Woodward, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Eastwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Eastwood pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Otsego, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.

Coming up, Eastwood will venture away from home to face off against Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Flyers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Otsego, they will be playing at home against Fostoria at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights are facing the Redmen at the right time seeing as the Redmen are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
